Central Grove Baptist Church
Our Purpose
The purpose of this church shall be for (1) the worship of God, (2) the promotion of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed in the inspired Word of God, and (3) the promotion of the cause of missions and benevolences throughout the world.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. ALL Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation, (The Baptist Faith & Message, Appendix 1)

Central Grove Baptist Church
Our Story
On December 28, 1889, the people met for the purpose of organizing a United Baptist Church. The church was known as Central Union Baptist Church. It was built as a Union Church House for the United Baptist, Missionary Baptist, Methodist and Christian Churches. The Central Grove Baptist Church became known by that name on August 26, 1922. In the summer of 1986, the church constructed a new baptistry and the first baptismal service was held August 10, 1986 at the church.
